Live TV with a real guide
Seven days of EPG listings forward and back on every channel that supplies them. See what is on now, what follows, and what aired earlier in the week on catch-up channels.
BorealTV streams through IBO Player — a single, well-built application that runs on practically every platform a Canadian household owns. This page covers what the app actually does, which devices it installs on, and how a subscription and an app licence relate to one another.

IBO Player is the only application BorealTV supports, and that focus is what makes support fast. Add your playlist once, pick a layout, and the app delivers 15,200 live channels and 520,000 on-demand titles with a full electronic programme guide attached. Playback is smooth, the interface is uncluttered, and the customisation options are genuinely useful rather than decorative.
The experience is the same whether you are on an Android TV box in the living room, a Fire TV Stick in a bedroom, a Windows laptop or a phone on the train. Your one authorized device can be any of those — the subscription does not care which category it falls into. The complete grid is described on the channels page.

Switch between the default layout and the tidier alternative in a single setting. The second option gives channel names proper room and aligns the guide correctly — most subscribers switch within a day.
Long-press any channel to add it to your favourites. The favourites folder sits at the top of the category column, so the twenty channels you actually watch are always one click away.
Search the live grid or the on-demand library. Live search scans all channels in all categories at once, so you do not need to know which block a channel lives in.
Sort movies and series by date added, rating or alphabetically, switch between Modern and Normal themes, and resume any title where you left off.
Protect a playlist with a PIN and restrict categories through parental control settings. Useful in households where the on-demand library is shared with children.

IBO Player uses remote playlist activation. Rather than typing credentials into the app on your television, you register the device on the IBO Player web portal using the MAC address and device key shown inside the app, then add your BorealTV playlist there. The portal pushes the details to your device within seconds.
This is unusual the first time you meet it but it has a practical benefit: entering a long streaming URL with a TV remote is miserable, and doing it on a laptop keyboard takes ten seconds. Once it is saved you never touch it again.
The full walkthrough, including where to find the MAC address and device key on each platform, is in the setup guide. Open the setup guide.
It is worth being clear about this because it confuses people. BorealTV provides the stream — the channels, the VOD library, the EPG data, the servers. IBO Player is built by a separate developer, IBODEV, and it is a paid application with a short evaluation window followed by a one-off licence fee.
That licence is small, it is paid once to IBODEV rather than to us, and it is not included in your BorealTV subscription price for the simple reason that it is not ours to sell. The setup guide walks through the activation flow on the IBO Player site.
One device per subscription. Each BorealTV line authorizes a single device through IBO Player. You can move that authorization to a different device whenever you want — message support and we transfer it — but two screens cannot stream at the same time on one line. A household wanting simultaneous streams needs a second subscription. All five terms are on the pricing page.
No. IBO Player does not include a recording function. On channels that support it, catch-up covers most of the same ground by letting you play back programmes that already aired within the guide window.
No. IBO Player does not offer multi-screen viewing. Combined with the one-device-per-subscription rule, this means one channel at a time per line.
No, it is the default layout. Open the screen icon next to the Wi-Fi symbol on the dashboard, switch Live Screen Style from Malai to Thai, and save. Everything aligns correctly afterwards.
Close the app completely and reopen it. The portal pushes credentials over the IBO cloud and the app reads them at startup. If two restarts do not fix it, confirm the device key came from the same device you are watching on.
Yes. The app and your subscription follow your internet connection rather than your address, so travel within North America, Europe or elsewhere works normally on a stable connection.
